Nature's Way

Nature's Way

If I were a river I'd run my course,
Never linger or stray,
Just go my own way.
I'd never think twice,
Confident my path was right.

Oh, to be a river,
So deep and beautiful.
Everyone wants to hang,
Trees, birds, fish, the whole gang!
No matter where I flowed,
I'd never, ever be alone.

If I were a tree I'd spread my limbs,
Give birds a refuge,
To raise their kin.
My shade would be so cool,
My fruit be their fuel.

Oh, to be a tree,
Reaching for the sky.
I'd have no pain or sorrow,
To spoil today or tarnish tomorrow!
