Faith by Farah Bazzrea

FAITH

YOU HAVEN’T BEEN AROUND WHEN YOU SHOULD
AND I DON’T KNOW IF YOU WOULD IF YOU COULD
THERE SEEMS TO ME TO BE MANY A DAY
WHEN YOU WALKED AROUND IN A STUPEFYING DAZE
BUT NOW I KNOW THAT’S ONLY YOUR PRESENCE
NEVER YOUR SOUL DID I SEE
YOU HAD IT LOCKED UP AND I NEVER KNEW
SOMEONE ELSE HAD THE KEY.

MANY A DAY WE SHARED IN THE SUN
AND I WAS THE ONLY ONE HAVING FUN
YOU ALWAYS HAD THOSE FARAWAY EYES
AND I ALWAYS KNEW YOU WERE BLUE
BUT TONIGHT YOU’RE FLYING, YOUR LOVE SO TRUE
WILL YOU EVER COME BACK AGAIN
I WISH THAT I HAD JUST ONCE CHANCE TO TELL YOU
DARLING, I LOVE YOU.

BUT IF LEAVING ME MAKES YOU HAPPY INSIDE
THEN I DON’T THINK THAT I COULD CRY
CAUSE YOU’RE LIKE THE BIRDS THAT SOAR ON THE WIND
I DON’T KNOW IF I’LL SEE YOU AGAIN
BUT IF I DO I’LL KNOW THAT IT’S FATE
CAUSE BABY, I’LL JUST HAVE TO WAIT
TO SEE IF THE CURRENTS THAT STREAM THROUGH THE SKY
BLOW YOU BACK IN MY LIFE.

Call To Arms by Farah Bazzrea

Call To Arms

Expressions of emotions cloud our consciousness,
Smothering our perceptions with layers of confusion.
Our heart alone remains above the fray,
Waiting patiently to guide our way.

Yearning for tomorrow, dreaming of yesterday,
Glazes the present, as if it were clay.
Open your mind, exhale your doubts,
Let your inner self with society bout.

Are not we all made in God’s likeness,
Divinity in unguilded splendor?
Know you are unique; know you are Divine,
For no other has your exact same mind.

Take time to ponder, to reflect upon your life,
To follow our destiny, we must always strive.
Accepting not what is but what should be, trusting only your soul,
This is humanity’s duty and task for which each of us should toil.

Simple Blessings by Farah Bazzrea

Simple Blessings
Every breath, the wind,
The sunshine, I feel in my veins.
The seasons of life offer no guarantee,
Only the breath that escapes our lips.

The view, from a hill the bare trees invite,
Like a window frame, a fly.
Listening, watching, as busy bees
Gather life’s pollen, after their dreams.

The natural sounds fascinate,
A bird, a squirrel, even the rain,
But the laughter and their songs,
Are sounds of the heart.

As I walk, I feel the earth,
As I breathe, I savor the air,
As I see, the spectrum fills me,
As I listen, music begs my soul to dance.

This world is a most gracious hostess,
Nurturing the miracle of life.
Capture each day with no survivors,
If you snooze, you lose! ©

Lifeblood by Farah Bazzrea

Lifeblood

I must become a chameleon,
Adapt to my surroundings.
Survival is left to the flexible, the rigid break.

The wind, eternal and powerful, knows its limits,
But persistence favors her, as she bends today
To allow the temporary obstructions their day in the sun.

A long distance runner knowingly smiles
When life’s sprinters rush by,
As life is more than a brief measured race.

The wisdom of the years is generally lost to our young,
They strive to numb their senses, rushing to their agenda,
Their conclusions reached, equal the questions asked.

Firm in the ground, my roots support me.
Reaching for the sun, my limbs expose to the forces.
My trunk allows me to err, to heal, to bear the weight.

The natural cycles of life are but amusing entertainment.
They give life to laugh, cry, love, be lonely and sad.
The beauty of emotions are essential to life as blood. ©
