To some, comes a time we no longer feel satiated with the material world. Our pursuit of riches and success fails to fill the void. Too many questions, too few answers. Our ego speechless. Emptiness tolls in dinning solitude. And we find ourselves unwilling to reside in the peripheral wastelands of consciousness yet another day.
Driven by a realization that no more is to come than has passed, dreams become vague memories of youth's ambition derailed amid life's turbulence. When aches and pains temper our actions and grief and loss soften our resolve, mortality consumes us. As fair trade in this inevitably tragic battle against time, the wisdom of experiences pale our loss. Yet without sharing, seems quite the irony. Who above ground benefits from knowledge buried beneath, returned to Mother Earth?
A frailty of humankind, conceit, among others, creates false beliefs to languish comfortably among our ego's repertoire of cheap emotional card tricks. The deeper the trance, the greater perchance, excessive indulgence in this trifling human folly is constructed. Wisdom escapes its impending tomb in time and space only through dual actions. One, the seeker's; the other, in a state of peace. Seeking without finding the other is incomplete, a half without a whole, a stream without an end.
Modern media's culture is entertainment without lesson. Perhaps primers' courses graze along lower latitudes, but greater fruits of import, insightful discourse, nestle among the slopes of majestic peaks, obscured beyond the clouds of confusion, unseen by farmers among the plains. Yet, is this not the needle's direction our plotters' compass sets course? So that shackles and chains need not bind our limbs? So that whips and prods remain in our houses of history on public display as if serfdom and noblesse, relics of the past, quaint concepts of a darker day upon the foundations of which modern society arises a phoenix, transformed and enlightened?
Nay. Only the carrot dangles before us stead the prod behind. No more change than that; simply more the same. A sheer facade scantily drapes the Truth, oblique to the citizenry. The glitter of things possessed and those still desired, power the wheel upon which the cages spin round and round 'til Mother Earth receives her progeny, deposited from whence we come, none the better for legacy or nation, father or son, mother or daughter.
When still wet from the womb of forever and never, amen, we weave fine silks to fade in the sunlight of surreality, raggedly rampaged in winds of oppression. Dressed in ignorance, we plod a pathway of blinded dimensions in a timeless world of unfathomable reaches. Treading water in a broad, sweeping river betrays our motion, til upon the brim of the great mouth we recognize our own self we deceive, our heaping consumed, a minor in tragedy, a major in waste, haunting our consciousness, driven to resolution, madness or genius, to depths of Hell or heights of great joy.
But this roulette wheel need not select our fate. With ever-changing dictates, we toil for ego-prized trinkets. We stress our emotional selves at attempts to control those things which we cannot with struggles for this or that, encountering loose ends upon dead ends, one hurdle arises after another. Yet this is life. Nothing can change it. No one control it. Deal with it. But only a fool would base the value of self-worth upon a random world spinning chaotically against winds of coincidence and chance, following paths mined by detours and roadblocks seeded with traps of corruption and greed on a sorrowful journey of endless heartache and grief.
For above the fray, our Eternal Self remains, patiently waiting, watching for our ego to falter in a moment of despair when we reach for higher ground and break free the binds our hypnotic state imposes. In that brief dash for freedom--our True Self leaps from the starting blocks to awaken within us, to destroy the great deception, to expose the Truth that we are not that which abides in the world of man, but that which is forever, eternal in its being, that which resides above the upper reaches of the human mind in virtual lobes superior to conscious, intellectual thought--we gather fuzzy glimpses of the Light.
Though compelling, uplifting and exciting in nature, brilliant in magnitude, this ever-so-fast lightning flash across our consciousness, the ego relinquishes not its throne willingly. Rare, indeed, if ever, the monarch that concedes power willingly. But at least, we finally realize the possibility of a Watcher within us. A Silent Observer dwelling in the kingdom of Heaven. Complete. This Eternal Self needs nothing from a world we can see or touch. Neither does it seek anything. Only to be, is the reason for its existence. At this level, as one with God, our Creator, the Source, Whomever, we are eternal. The entire visible Universe is conjured from within the Mind of God. There is not but energy, Divine Psychic Energy. This, and we are the Great Objective with no emotion, no agenda, just to be. And when the matinee concludes and the curtain falls, there are no lost boys and girls, all roads lead Home.
Some may question, "What about the evil-doers among us?" Others may argue, "Surely they do not enter into the gates of Paradise!" I would only say, evil exists at the pleasure of all. Hitler cannot bear the responsibility of World War II atrocities alone. He is but a single man, an ego lost among the madness of millions, acting out a tragedy, each actor, playing their own role, choosing daily, even minutely, which actions he or she, will make. Pull the trigger, or not. Create atrocities in the name of a distant, pitiful cause. Woe, what tragedies even Allies created in response. There were none innocent. Though one man led, millions carried his perverted dream within. Millions more filled their souls with the greatest enmity for each and every German man and woman, boy and girl... many of whom never participated in an actual act of war. Even Japanese Americans, completely innocent of the sins and crimes of their former homeland, were subjected to the evils of "goodness." What of waves of bombers' unleashed hellfire upon the women, children and elderly of Dresden, Berlin, Nagasaki and Hiroshima in unholy acts of revenge, criminal warfare by the British and American air forces?
In one great human folly, nearly an entire global population is complicit. Where does the guilt, action or reaction, admitted or excused, begin and end? The same is true of all evil-doers. Are there not "innocent" persons--somewhere, someplace, conspicuously absent in the trials and prisons--enablers, contributors to the consummation of pain in acts of violence and depravity? Would it not be so without them? The human race is guilty by definition, by our very nature. This is a common thread among all religions. Yet many egos of self-righteous persons elevate themselves above others, as if untouched by the realities of Creation and perpetuated by governments, cultures and extremists.
Once, and only until the entirety of humankind accepts full responsibility for all sins and crimes against nature and humanity throughout the world since the beginning of time, may we lift up each other, extend love and compassion and create a completely harmonious world in every aspect, free of war and famine. Every single human being is our brother and sister. Every living beast, gnat to albatross, mouse to elephant, krill to whale, are necessary for our continued survival in an unimaginably complex life circle. Every living plant, an integral to the whole of Creation's health and existence. Every tangible form upon this planet arose from the dust of stars and that portion of us which resides within the ego's domain shall inevitably return to whence it came.
Thus, the pretension of one person over another, is quite humorous and would be quite laughable if not for the destruction and pain created in its manifestations. One human being to another the world is love. One government to another the world is filled with the sins of humankind. In the words of the Los Angeles rioter, Rodney King, "Can't we all just get along?" The answer is "yes," only if we allow our True Self to expose our egos for what they are. This is the intended purpose of religion; though it has accomplished much good, it has fallen far short of the necessary heights to which humankind must rise. There is no "Us" and "Them;" only "We" exists.
If federal governments cannot exist within this mindset, they no longer serve the people's best interests, if indeed, ever they did. I know there are many opposed to a one-world government and this bold statement flies in the face of change, one of humanity's most feared realities, but if there were no governments with which to fight, no greener grass across the fence, perhaps the economic wastes of bombs and bullets could be eliminated and the world's prosperity better spent upon food and shelter, medicines for the body and soul. Anarchy (no governments) would be better than oppression. The power within us, collectively, has no limitations, no boundaries. We are constrained, jailed, imprisoned in the status quo, only by our inabilities to visualize solutions to contemporary problems. The immeasurable potential in a united global focus upon peace and prosperity for humankind has no equal.
Think outside the box... literally. Make contact with your Source. Rise above the petty demands and desires of our ego's daily needs. It is the wickedness within each of us, which we must defeat. It requires no bloodshed. No lives lost. It simply requires love. Love for oneself. Love for thy brother and sister. Love for the beautiful creation we have been granted the opportunity to experience in human form. Love for our Creator, Whom resides within each and every living thing. May there be Peace on Earth.
